How do my ads appear to consumers?

Advertisements are displayed as a pop-ups or pop-unders to users who have installed ad supported software.

How can I target my advertising?

By Site – come up with a list of websites that might attract visitors who are interested in your product or service. These are the sites you need to target. You can choose any number of URLs for your campaign.

By Keyword – as with choosing websites, think about what people who are interested in your product might type into a search engine. Again, there is no limit to the number of keywords you can select.

By Country – if you have a product that is only available in certain countries, you can choose to target those countries specifically.

By Channel – channel advertising targets your campaign by category. This can be something very broad like ‘Sport’, or more specific like ‘Chinese Medicine’. Channels take much of the guesswork out of online advertising.

What about bidding?

Enter a bid price for the keywords or URLs that appear on your final list. Some of these will be more popular than others. The more popular the keyword or URL, the higher you need to bid to receive the same portion of traffic.

You can also set the frequency at which you want unique visitors to see your ads. Be sure to control on your spending by setting a budget before you start bidding.

Does DirectCPV use adware?

Yes. Adware is defined as any software that displays advertisements on a user's computer.

The term carries a degree of stigma because Adware is often misused by merchants. Unwanted Adware can be installed without a user’s knowledge and is often difficult to remove.

If Adware is installed knowingly and follows certain guidelines, it is considered ethical, permission-based advertising. All DirectCPV advertising is permission-based. We only distribute legitimate and effective advertising.

How is adware different to spyware?

While adware displays advertisements, spyware collects and distributes user information without their consent. Some people in the industry wrongly link adware with spyware.

DirectCPV DOES NOT collect user information. We work by a strict code of ethics. For more information, feel free to view our privacy policy.

Do pop-up blockers prevent my ads from being seen?

No. Our software is unaffected by pop-up blockers because it simulates user activity. The software opens a new browser window and loads the advertisers' URL automatically.

Are there any advertising guidelines?
